Energy firms dispute Ofgem profitability figures
"Christine McGourty, director of Energy UK: "Ofgem data published today shows that we have a very competitive market."
Cold storage
"Only connect. In the last twelve months Britain has shelled out £4.3 million pounds to wind farms that were not producing power even though the wind was blowing. Over the same period our power stations and heavy industries chucked 800 gigawatt hours of waste heat up the chimney, about the same as all the heat consumed by the entire country."
.. wind farms that are not producing power .. and not because the wind stops blowing .. power stations and heavy industries chucked 800 gigawatt hours of waste heat up the chimney .. the same as all the heat consumed by the entire country ..
power companies .. their very existence .. an elaborate scheme .. ofgem included .. being solely devised .. its only purpose .. to make some people money .. money-making criteria that hold people hostage .. stalling progress, growth .. just because the power companies money-making machines .. require so ..
what if .. these 800 gigawatt waste .. were made available .. ample energy ..supply that will overwhelm demand .. that could even render the existence of power companies ..obsolete
Ian Marlee, Ofgem: "The job we have been given to do is to make sure the market is working effectively."
the market .. works effectively .. power companies continue to make their profits ..effectively .. merely a fuse .. so that power companies .. keep a modicum of decency ..and do not go haywire in their pursuit of profits .. totally irrelevant of the benefit to individuals ..
..competitive market .. what about .. energy output streamlined .. in such a way that there are only adequate amounts .. to be handled by energy companies so that they maintain a status quo that ensures their survival as profit-making organisations .. the energy utility just at the margins of supply and demand .. so they can continue charge exorbitant prices .. driving people into despair ..

The NHS recommends rooms do not go below 16 degrees - in a few weeks people will need to turn their heating on to stay above this. Last Christmas I returned home to find my bedroom was 3 degrees!
People HAVE to turn their heating on and I believe energy companies should be threatened with manslaughter charges for the people who will die this winter because they can’t afford to."
energy companies .. threatened with manslaughter charges for the people who will die this winter because they can’t afford to ... totally and utterly justified
bottlenecks ..
"National Grid has to pay wind farms to turn themselves off when it can’t find a home for their output. That tends to happen when bottlenecks in the transmission system stop the power getting to where it’s needed, or when there is simply too much wind and too little demand. The UK network operator says the problem will worsen as offshore wind capacity soars over the next decade, and that electricity storage will be vital to smooth out renewable production: soaking up excess power when demand is low, releasing it when demand is high."
national grid .. bottlenecks .. in the transmission system .. has to pay wind farms .. to turn themselves off ..
what about the biggest bottleneck ever .. the power companies .. why would they not consider .. to turn them off .. true growth and welfare of people .. their true purpose .. to outshine .. why would the profit insanity .. allowed to continue to malign humanity ..
